Each entry includes: composer's name, birth and death dates, work title, timing, first performance information, and a bibliography; and are grouped together according to instrumentation. Three appendices contain list of works intended for educational purposes, survey of chamber music series publications including British works, and list of manuscript source addresses.

About the Author

William A. Everett joined the music history faculty at the Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1998.  Prior to this, he taught at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, for twelve years.  He holds degrees from Texas Tech University, Southern Methodist University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas.  His areas of research include the American musical theater and the music of the U.K., Croatia, and Finland.  He remains active as a violist and is a member of the Lawrence (Kansas) Chamber Orchestra.
